Lulu Hypermarket felicitates winners of Food Carnival Competitions

Lulu Hypermarket, the heavyweight among regional retailers, held a prize distribution ceremony on 4th April at their Al Rai oultet, to felicitate winners of the various competitions that were organized during the ‘Food Carnival 2019’. Top management at Lulu Hypermarket in Kuwait handed over the prizes in the presence of a large crowd of competition participants and shoppers.
The prize distribution ceremony saw winners of various competitions held during the ‘Lulu Food Carnival’, being rewarded with prizes and gift coupons. The Food Carnival, which took place from 27 March to 6 April, saw cookery competitions being held in different categories, such as Italian and Continental cuisine, Indian cuisine and Chinese cuisine, as well as in cooking desserts.
The first, second and third prize winners in each category received gift vouchers worth KD100, KD75 and KD50 respectively. In addition, prizes and gifts were presented to winners of various competitions, such as Junior Chef, Make and Eat, Kitchen Queen, Wow the Master Chef, and, Taste and Win among others. Each participant who took part in the competitions was also acknowledged with consolation prizes.
Holding of exciting competitions throughout the year as part of promotional campaign, has allowed Lulu Hypermarket to constantly engage with their customers, and to reward them for their participation with amazing prizes and gifts. LuLu opens new Hypermarket in Al Naba'a, Sharjah

LuLu launched its newest store located at Al Naba’a, Rolla, Sharjah. The new hypermarket was inaugurated by H.E Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, in the presence of LuLu Group Chairman and Managing Director Yusuff Ali M.A, CEO Saifee Rupawala, Executive Director Ashraf Ali M.A, Director Salim M.A, government officials and dignitaries.

Yusuff Ali M.A shared: “We are proud to reach out to another dynamic market in the Emirate of Sharjah, where we come closer to provide a great shopping experience. Lulu Hypermarket launches ‘Celebrate Kuwait’ promotion

LuLu relocates Al Burj Hypermarket to Wadi Al Lawami

Muscat : LuLu Hypermarket has opened its new store at Wadi Al Lawami, Al Khoudh. The new store was inaugurated on Jan 2, 2019, under the auspices of HE Hamad Bin Khamis Al Amri, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Manpower. The new store will expand the array of offerings and provide customers a more convenient and comfortable shopping experience. The new hypermarket, which offers 350,000 square feet of retail space, will be an added advantage for residents of Al Khoudh.

The hypermarket consists of a supermarket selling groceries, fruit & vegetables, hot food and bakery products. The hot food counter has a huge area in front for customers to dine with family and friends. In addition, there is a children's play corner and a spacious food court with indoor and outdoor seating facilities. Lulu Hypermarket launches Xmas and New Year promotion

Lulu Hypermarket, the leading hypermarket in the region, launched its Xmas and New Year promotion on 20 December at the Al Rai outlet.
A highlight of the launch to celebrate the Xmas season and welcome the New Year, was a Little Santa Claus Fashion Show featuring a parade of adorable children. Another Little Santa Claus Fashion Show, held the next day at the hypermarket’s Dajeej outlet, was also applauded by shoppers and well-wishers to the hypermarket.

LuLu further expands in Bahrain

LuLu Group has further expanded its presence in the Kingdom of Bahrain by opening its latest Hypermarket in the newly opened Atrium Mall in Saar. The new Hypermarket which is also 7th in the country was officially inaugurated by H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy PM of Bahrain in the presence of H.H Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al- Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Daij, President of Crown Prince Court, H.E. Lulu Hypermarket felicitates winners of ‘Live for Free’ promotion

Lulu hypermarket, the leading retailer in the region, held a prize-distribution ceremony on 22 November at its Al Rai outlet for winners of its ‘Live For Free’ promotion. The felicitation ceremony was attended by a gathering of top management from Lulu hypermarket Kuwait, officials and well-wishers.
A total of 25 winners of the Live for Free promotion were declared after their names were picked out in a raffle draw.
During the promotion, which was organized from 24 October to 3 November, shoppers were entitled to one raffle coupon for every KD5 worth of purchase at any Lulu Hypermarket outlet that then made them eligible to enter the raffle draw.
The first-prize winner was awarded KD600-worth of gift vouchers, while the remaining 24 prize winners each received KD200-worth of gift vouchers. The gift vouchers could be redeemed only for supermarket items at Lulu Hypermarket.
The ‘Live For Free’ promotion was part of the hypermarket’s ongoing endeavor to strengthen its relationship with customers by rewarding brand loyalty. Yusuff Ali M.A. Receives Honorary Doctorate from Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan at Middlesex University

Dubai : The renowned Middlesex University conferred its honorary doctorate on leading businessman and philanthropist Yusuffali MA today. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan was the chief guest of the graduation event. While addressing the graduates and dignitaries, Sheikh Nahyan stressed the importance of education, which defines the character of an individual. Sheikh Nahyan further said that investing in education is investing in future that also shapes values of citizens. He said that Future of the world is depend on students and urged students to continuously learn which is a never ending process.

Shaikh Nayan also congratulated Yusuff Ali on receiving the honorary doctorate and said that "Yusuff Ali played an important role to strengthen India-UAE relationship and for setting benchmarks in entrepreneurial leadership. Shaikh Nahyan also praised the commitment of Yusuff Ali to fellow human being and described him as a persona with impressive record of achievement."

LULU OPENS 14th HYPERMARKET IN KSA, City of Flowers gets its first LULU HYPERMARKET

Tabuk, Saudi Arabia: The leading retail company, UAE-based Lulu Group has further expanded its retail network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by opening its newest Hypermarket in North-Western region of Tabuk.

Eng. Faris M Al-Sarhani, Mayor of Tabuk officially inaugurated the hypermarket in the presence of Said Ali Awadh Al Asieri, Chairman Tabuk Chamber of Commerce and a number of other dignitaries.

Strategically located at the newly launched Tabuk Park Mall on the King Faisal road, Lulu Hypermarket covers a total built-up area of more than 145,000 square feet.

Expansion Plans:

Elaborating Group’s expansion plans, Yusuff Ali said, "We are upbeat about the vast investment opportunities laid open in the Kingdom, thanks to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Our group plans to make investments in the $500 billion NEOM transnational megacity and economic zone," he said, adding that the investment processing work is under way in this regard.

We have already announced that as part of our expansion plans, 15 new hypermarkets will be opened in the Kingdom by 2020 at an investment of SAR 1 billion. Under this plan, two hypermarkets have already been opened & another three hypermarkets are in line to be opened by the end of this year. This includes two in Jeddah, one each in Dammam, Al Kharj and North Riyadh.

This is apart from the SAR 1 billion we have already invested in the Kingdom till now.

With 14 Hypermarkets and eight ARAMCO commissaries in its entity, LuLu has firmly established itself as one of the most preferred retail destinations for both citizens and the expatriate community residing in the Kingdom.

And our goal is to give employment to 6,000 Saudi nationals by the end of 2020. We have a very elaborate and effective multi-level training program, through which we not only train them here but also send the local recruits to our other regions in the GCC & India for training in various departments. We have also tied up with Saudi vocational institutions and universities in this regard.

Logistics & Wholesale sector development:

Apart from the retail expansion we are investing SAR 200 million in setting up a 1 million sq. ft. state-of-the-art wholesale & logistics center in King Abdulla Economic City (KAEC), which will not only support our retail expansion but also help in ensuring food security.

Lulu Hypermarket launches ‘Global Tastes 2018’ food festival

Lulu Hypermarket, the leading retailer in the region, launched its Global Tastes 2018 food festival with a grand inauguration on 27 September at the hypermarket’s Al-Rai outlet.

The event was inaugurated by celebrity chef, Abdul Razak Elsaid in the presence of top Lulu management in Kuwait, and a large gathering of shoppers and well-wishers.

LuLu opens 150th Hypermarket in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

LuLu Group has crossed a major milestone as the leading retailer in the region by opening 150th Hypermarket in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Hypermarket which is LuLu’s biggest was officially inaugurated by Engineer Ibrahim Al Omer, Governor, HE Ibrahim Al Suwail Dy. Governor of Saudi General Investment AuthoritySAGIA along with Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, LuLu Group chairman Yusuff Ali M.A., Shehim Mohammed, LuLu Saudi Director and other dignitaries & royal family members.

LuLu Opens New Hypermarket Concept In The Mall At World Trade Center Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 2 July 2018—Lulu Group has launched a new hypermarket concept and revamped store design on 2 July at The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi The Mall at WTCAD. The opening has marked Lulu’s 148th store and cemented its reputation as the region’s fastest growing retail chain with multiple stores across the GCC, Egypt, India, and the Far East.

Expansion Plans:

Elaborating the Group’s expansion plans, Yusuff Ali said: “We see tremendous growth opportunities in Abu Dhabi, where 10 new hypermarkets are on the construction stage in different areas and it will be operational within the next 18 to 24 months. This includes Al Falaha, Al Reem, Khalifa City, Sadiyat, and Beda Zayed amongst the list. Two more hypermarkets will be opened in the coming weeks (one in Umm Al Quwain and one in Saudi Arabia) that will make the total number of outlets to 150.

Apart from this, Lulu has also plans to enter in the retail scenario in China, where it has a strong sourcing and logistics facility since 2000. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation on various areas of mutual interest was signed recently between Lin Yi, Party Secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC), Yiwu, in Zhejiang province and Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group International. As stated in the MoU, Lulu will increase its yearly exports from China, which currently stands at US$ 220 million to US$ 300 million. Apart from this, Lulu will also look into the possibility of investment to set up Hypermarkets in Yiwu and other major cities at an investment of US$ 200 million.

LuLu opens 8th hypermarket in Al Ain

As part of its expansion plan, Lulu Group has opened its latest hypermarket in the garden city of Al Ain. The Hypermarket which is 8th in Al Ain and 146th of the group was officially inaugurated by Abdulla Mohammed Saeed Al Subuousi in the presence of Nassar Al Mamri, General Manager, Al Ain Awqaf, Hamad Rashid Al Dhahiri, Col. Saif Al Dhahiri, Major Rashid Al Kaabi.

LuLu Hypermarket felicitates winners of Food Expo competitions

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading retailer in the region, held a prize distribution ceremony on 31 March to felicitate winners of the various competitions that were organized during the 'Lulu Food Expo 2018’.
The ceremony saw the first place winner walk away with KD100 worth of gift voucher, while second and third place winners were presented with KD75 and KD50 worth of gift vouchers respectively.
The 'LuLu Food Expo 2018', which was held from 21 to 31 March, saw tens of thousands of shoppers visit LuLu Hypermarket outlets to enjoy the promotions and participate in various competitions. One of the highlights of the Food Expo 2018 was the interaction for shoppers with celebrity Chef Vicky Ratnani who inaugurated the event on the first day.

LuLu Hypermarket holds prize distribution for ‘Win to Drive’ promotion

Dammam: UAE’s LuLu Group which have 10 Hypermarkets and 8 Aramco commissionaires in the kingdom has further expanded its presence in Saudi Arabia by opening its 2nd LuLu store in the Kingdom, was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Wajih Malibari, Administrator Area Home Ownership Development Division, Saudi Aramco operations. on Thursday. The occasion was also graced by several high-ranking officials from various government departments, representatives from local business community and prominent citizens.

“We are moving in line with Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s robust economy and the Government’s investor-friendly policies have encouraged and provided us a favorable environment to continue to establish ourselves and to contribute to the economic growth of the Kingdom. Deputy Ruler of Sharjah opens new LuLu Hypermarket in Al Hazna

Lulu Group, the region’s top retailer has further expanded its presence in the northern emirates by opening biggest ever Hypermarket in Sharjah. The new store which is 140th store of the group was officially inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah & Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council at Al Hazna in the presence of number of dignitaries and businessmen.

LuLu Hypermarket launches Festival of Egypt

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading retailer in the region, launched the 11-day Festival of Egypt promotion at all its outlets on 5th October.

The festival was inaugurated at the Hypermarket's Al-Dajeej branch by His Excellency Yasser Atif, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kuwait, along with the top management from LuLu Hypermarket, in the presence of a large crowd of shoppers and well-wishers.

The Festival of Egypt, which runs from 4th to 14th October, showcases the wide diversity of Egyptian foods including specialty cheese, fresh fruits, tender vegetables, fish, meat and olives. Among the products being highlighted at the festival are luscious mangoes, oranges, strawberries, grapes,watermelons and pomegranates.

A cultural extravaganza is also being held as part of the festival and features traditional music and dances of Egypt, including the famous Saidi horse-dance, zaffa the marriage procession dance and the vibrant tanoura. In addition, special magic shows and painted clowns will entertain children on the evenings of 5th and 6th October.

The promotion period will also witness several competitions, including clay modeling and a fashion show of traditional costumes for children below the age of 12.

Lulu opens second Hypermarket in Indonesia Reaffirms its commitment of US$500 million investment plans

Jakarta: The Middle Eastern retail major, LULU Group opened its 2nd hypermarket at BSD City, Tangerang, Indonesia today. Located at the QBig, the new Lulu hypermarket was inaugurated by Himawan Hariyoga, Chairman of Investment Board of Indonesia, Dr. Sutisno Rawita, Deputy Governor of Banten Province, Walid Darwish Al Raeesi of UAE Embassy in Jakarta, Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of Lulu Group and other top govt. officials.

LuLu , which opened its first hypermarket and department store in the capital city of Jakarta last year, is firm on its planned investment of US$500 million as part of its expansion and intends to set up 10 hypermarket and department stores in the next three years in the country.

UAE's Lulu Group donates US$100,000 for flood relief in Sri Lanka

Abu Dhabi: In an effort to support flood relief and rescue operations in Sri Lanka, UAE based retail giant Lulu group has donated an amount of US$100,000 15 million LKR to the National Floods and Landslide Victims Operation in Sri Lanka . S.J. Mohideen, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UAE received the cheque from Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman & Managing Director of Lulu in Abu Dhabi in the presence of senior officials of Lulu Group and Sri Lankan Embassy in a function held at its head office in Abu Dhabi.

LuLu Hypermarket awards prizes to Food Expo 2017

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading hypermarket brand in the region, capped its Food Expo 2017 with a prize distribution ceremony held on 2 April at its Al Rai outlet. Winners of the various competitions held during the food festival were felicitated by LuLu management in the presence of a large crowd of shoppers and well-wishers.
The competitions, which were launched on 19 March and extended throughout the expo period, featured a Cookery Contest, Live Cookery Demo, Junior-Chef Contest, Wow the Master Chef Contest, Taste & Win Contest, Make and Eat Competition, Carving Competition, Pickles Contest and Kitchen Queen Contests.

LuLu Mall sets new frontiers in Indonesia

UAE based LuLu Group which opened its first hypermarket and department store in Jakarta, Indonesia in January last year will be investing US$500 million on a major project in the country. The Project will include the setting up of ten new hypermarkets and department stores in the next three years across the country.

The first LuLu Hypermarket and Department Store was inaugrated by the Indonesian President, Joko"Jokowi"Wi dodo and it has become one of the most highly popular shopping destinations for residents in and around East Jakarta. Lulu Hypermarket opened its new hypermarket in Bidaya. The new hypermarket was officially inaugurated by H.E. LuLu Hypermarket celebrates Onam and Eid Fest 2016

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading hypermarket chain in the region, celebrated the much-loved festivals of Onam and Eid with a promotional campaign that included competitions and festive programs.
Special offers on a large variety of items, including food products and festival-related pieces, were the hallmark of the campaign, with offers for Eid celebrations starting on 8 September and that for Onam starting on 11 September.
Sharing the jovial spirit of the festivals, LuLu Hypermarket organized a 2-hour program on 15 September that highlighted the traditional elements of Onam and Eid. Dancers clad in colorful costumers performed traditional dances and musical numbers from both festivals. A large gathering of people were on hand to witness and share in the jubilation of the festivals.
A special draw of the campaign was the Eid and Onam cultural programs that were held on 14 and 15 September. Traditional Eid and Onam songs and dances were the highlight of the cultural evening, with the ‘Puli Kali’, a traditional Onam folk dance, and energetic renditions of ‘chenda melam’, a rhythmic performance on drums, drew loud cheers from the audiences.
Another fun-filled activity organized for the occasion was a floral carpet competition held on 15 September where 10 teams presented their vibrant and decorative floral carpets or ‘Pookalams’. The winning team received KD100 worth gift vouchers, while gift vouchers of KD75 and KD50 were distributed to the second and third placed teams respectively. LuLu Hypermarket opens its 129th outlet in Rustaq, Oman

Rustaq : LuLu Group, region’s retail major has further strengthened its presence in the Sultanate of Oman by opening its latest hypermarket in the town of Rustaq in Al Batinah region.

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading hypermarket chain in the region, recently obtained the ISO 22000-2005 certification in food safety management its four outlets in Kuwait at Al Rai, Qurain, Dajeej and Salmiya.
Management from SGS Kuwait, part of the multinational SGS Group which is the world’s leading company for inspection, verification, testing and certification, handed over the ISO certificate to the higher management of LuLu Hypermarket, during a ceremony organized at its Al Rai outlet on 14 August. A large crowd of shoppers and well-wishers were on hand to witness the function.
This is a significant achievement for LuLu Hypermarket as it becomes the first hypermarket in Kuwait to be awarded this accreditation. The brand has consistently undertaken all measures needed to ensure the highest standards in the sourcing, storage, display and sale of their products.
The ISO 22000-2005 accreditation reiterates the hypermarket’s high standards in food safety management and its commitment to ensure that its various outlets have the ability to control food safety hazards and to provide consumers with foods that are of the best and safest quality.
The certification further demonstrates the hypermarket’s compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding food safety and efficient handling of food, and underlines the brand’s support for strong quality control in the food sector and the implementation of exemplary food management systems for the food industry.

LuLu Hypermarket launches Food Carnival 2019

Lulu Hypermarket, the leading regional retailer, launched its eagerly-awaited annual mega food festival, the Lulu Food Carnival 2019, at its Al Rai outlet on 27 March. World renowned Chef Michael Swamy inaugurated the promotion, in the presence of top management at Lulu Kuwait, a large gathering of customers, well-wishers and media personnel.
During the 11-day promotional period, a variety of culinary contests and record-breaking food displays were organized at Lulu outlets. A major draw during the promotion was the live cooking demonstration by Chef Swami, during which he interacted with his fans while imparting several cooking tips.
Other highlights during the food carnival were the numerous cooking competitions and record-shattering food displays. The culinary contest began a day earlier, on 26 March, to accommodate the variety of daily competitions that allowed budding child chefs, and accomplished lady chefs, to show off their culinary skills and compete in a spirited manner.
The cooking contests included competitions in Continental, Indian, Arabic and Chinese cuisines as well as in preparation of desserts. Cooking without Fire, Wow the Master Chef, Taste & Win, and Make & Eat competitions added to the allure of the food carnival. The Junior Chef contests and Kitchen Queen contests were highly competitive affairs that drew an enthusiastic response. Winners of the culinary contests, and participants alike, walked away with valuable gifts, cash vouchers and certificates.
Adding to the carnival’s attraction were several record-breaking food displays presented by the talented chefs of Lulu Hypermarket. The lengthy displays included a 20-meter long cake, a 10-meter long hotdog, the longest assorted cakes display, longest Basboosa and longest banana cake. Special Pot Biryani, cutting of the millefeuille pastry, and the soft butter cake cutting also attested to the skills of Lulu Hypermarket’s in-house chefs.

LuLu launches new concept store in Kuwait

LuLu opened LuLu Express Fresh Market, a new concept store at Al -Sharqia Commercial Complex in Khaitan on 17 March.

The first LuLu Express Fresh Market store in Kuwait was inaugurated by Chairman & Managing Director of LuLu Group International Mr. Yusuffali M.A. & Mariam Ismayil Jumaah Alansari ,in the presence of govt officials and dignitaries as well as large gathering of shoppers.

LuLu Express Fresh Market is a new store format that adds to LuLu's growing retail portfolio, taking the number of branches in the country to eight and the total branches across the world to 163. LULU MALL WITH HYPERMARKET INAUGURATED IN DAMMAM, KSA.

24 January 2019, Dammam: Leading retail chain, LuLu Group has launched its newest Hypermarket in Eastern city of Dammam with the inauguration of Lulu Mall.

The Hypermarket which is also 16th in the Kingdom and 161 st globally was officially inaugurated by H. E. Engineer Fahd Al-Jubair, Mayor of the Eastern Province in the presence of H.E. Abdul Rehman Bin Fahad Al Muqbel, Director General of Ministry of Labour, H.E. Khalid Ahamed Al Obaid, Director, Ministry of Labour, Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of Lulu Group, Govt. officials and dignitaries. 

Strategically located on King Fahad road, the four-level shopping mall houses global brands, entertainment centres, food court etc. for the whole family with a total built up area of 580,000 sq. feet and is managed by Lulu Properties, the shopping mall division of Lulu Group.

A major highlight of the newly opened Lulu Mall will be the 6-screen multiplex cinema, the first in Eastern region slated to be operational by mid-2019.

Recently, we have signed an agreement with the Saudi Arabian National Guard to open two shopping centers and seven supermarkets in Dammam and Al Ahsa which will further generate sizeable employment for local Saudi youth and serve the National Guard officials and their families in best possible manner. Works are in full swing to open three stores in National Guard campus before the end of 2019.

"Saudi economy is booming thanks to the major reform being implemented by the visionary leadership here, and I am sure these initiatives will surely make KSA one of the top global economic powerhouse" noted Yusuffali.

Apart from the retail expansion, Lulu group is also investing another 250 million Saudi riyals in setting up one million square feet state-of-the-art wholesale and logistics centre in King Abdulla Economic City (KAEC) to support the retail expansion, ensuring food security.

LuLu Group currently employs 3,050 Saudi nationals including 750 women in their various hypermarkets across the Kingdom. "Our goal is to give employment to more than 5,000 nationals by the end of 2020 out of which 1,700 will be women" added Yusuffali.

LuLu opens 15th Hypermarket in Saudi Arabia

LuLu Group has launched its newest Hypermarket in Al Kharj, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Hypermarket which is also 15th in the Kingdom and 158th globally was officially inaugurated by H. E. Musaed Abdullah Al Madhi, the Governor of Al Kharj in the presence of many dignitaries.

Strategically located at the heart of Al Kharj, the new hypermarket covers a total built-up area of more than 161,000 square feet. With the signature LuLu design aesthetic, the store features a conducive and spacious store layout and organised product stations for world class shopping experience.

LuLu opens 157th Hypermarket in Sharjah

LuLu Group has further positioned its presence in the northern emirates with the opening its latest Hypermarket in Sharjah. The new store which is also group's 157th store globally was officially inaugurated by Dr. Rashid Alleem, the chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority SEWA in the presence of number of dignitaries and businessmen.

Located in King Faisal Street, Al Majaz 1, the sprawling 115,000 square feet new hypermarket has been designed using the latest retail space concepts and most modern technology for ease of shopping and display and will serve residents of Al Majaz and its nearby areas. LuLu opens new Hypermarket in Sur, Oman

Lulu Hypermarket Oman inaugurated its latest branch in the port city of Sur on November 29th, 2018. The new store was officially inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mustahil Bin Salim Shammas, Governor of South Al-Sharqiyah Region, Sultanate of Oman in the presence of several high-ranking officials from various government departments and representatives from local business communities. The inauguration of the new Sur hypermarket coincided with the 48th National Day celebrations of Oman.

The hypermarket, which is the 22nd branch in Oman and the 155th globally, is spread over an area of about 150,000 square feet and situated in a strategic location on the highway that connects Sur and Quraiyat. LuLu wins Brand Of the Year at World Branding Awards 2018

London: The leading hypermarket& shopping malls chain LuLu won the Brand of the Year Award in the Retail category at the 2018 World Branding Award Ceremony on Wednesday.

The annual event evaluates brands from around the world through a three-step procedure including brand evaluation, public online voting and consumer market research.

Festival of Egypt 2018 opens at Lulu Hypermarket

Lulu Hypermarket, the leading retailer and high-value brand in the region, launched ‘Lulu Festival of Egypt 2018’ at its Al-Dajeej branch on 11 October. Italian food festival opens at Lulu Hypermarkets

Lulu Hypermarket, the retail leader in the region, launched its Italian Fest 2018 at the Al-Qurain outlet of the hypermarket on Wednesday, 3 October.

Lulu Hypermarket launches ‘Global Tastes 2018’ food festival

Lulu Hypermarket, the leading retailer in the region, launched its Global Tastes 2018 food festival with a grand inauguration on 27 September at the hypermarket’s Al-Rai outlet.

LuLu opens new Hypermarket in Ibri Bawadi Mall.

Lulu Group opened the doors of its newest hypermarket at Ibri Bawadi Mall on the 25th of July. The inauguration of the 21st outlet in Oman was held under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Khalaf Bin Salim Al-Ishaqi, Wali of Ibri, Al Dhahira Governorate, Wilayat of Ibri in the presence of senior government officials in the Sultanate.

LuLu Hypermarket launches ASEAN Fest 2018

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading regional retailer, launched ASEAN Fest 2018 with a grand ceremony at its Al Rai outlet on 18 July. The event was inaugurated by diplomats from several ASEAN embassies in Kuwait in the presence of top LuLu management and staff, as well as a large gathering of shoppers and well-wishers.
Attending the inauguration ceremony were the Ambassador of Vietnam H.E. Trinh Trim Manh, the Ambassador of Thailand H.E. Dusit Manapan, the Ambassador of Brunei H.E. Lulu Launches Green Checkout To Promote Reusable Bags At Al Barsha, Dubai

LuLu Hypermarket, the UAE’s fastest growing retail chain in partnership with Dubai Municipality, has distributed 6,000 eco-friendly reusable bags in Al Barsha, Dubai to raise awareness on the environmental benefits of reducing the use of plastic bags. The campaign entitled “I Choose to Reuse” is launched in collaboration with Dubai Municipality’s Waste Management Department.

From 16th May to 20th June, the awareness initiative will be featuring a “green checkout” programme in cash counters that promotes the use of eco bags. For every first-time purchase of the featured reusable bag, shoppers will get one coupon card. The customer will get one stamp on the card for each time the eco bag is used when shopping at LuLu. Once four coupons are complete, the customer will be eligible to a raffle draw entry for 1,000 AED worth of voucher each for three winners.

Dubai Municipality Waste Management Department Head of Administration, Yaequb Mohammed, launched the campaign with the presence of LuLu Hypermarket Regional Director in Dubai, Thamban K.P., together with other dignitaries of Dubai Municipality and LuLu Group.

LuLu Hypermarket launches Food Expo 2018

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading regional retailer, launched its eagerly awaited annual 'Food Expo’ on 21 March at its Al Rai outlet. LuLu Group has officially launched one of the largest project of its kind in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Through a Public Private Partnership PPP route the group would set up an integrated project, comprising 7000 capacity a world-class convention center, shopping mall and a luxury hotel on the beach road in the Harbour Park area of Visakhapatnam aimed to making it a global destination for “Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibitions MICE tourism.

The foundation stone for the project was laid by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu during the inaugural session of CII Partnership Summit in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu, Union Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu, Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathy Raju, Abdulla Ahmed Saleh, Under Secretary for Foreign Trade and Industry, Ministry of Economy of UAE, Yusuffali M.A. Chairman of LuLu Group, state ministers, diplomats and delegates from across the world.

LuLu Hypermarket rewards winners of ‘Live For Free’ promotion

UAE, Abu Dhabi, 21 November 2017: LuLu Group International today penned a deal with the local organizing committee of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 to sign up as the Games’ sponsor, making it the first Special Olympics World Summer Games retail sponsor in the 21st century history, and the exclusive retail sponsor of the Games. World class shopping at Workers Residential city in Al Mafraq

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi based retailer major Lulu Group has further expanded its presence in the capital by opening a new shopping center in the Workers Residential City in Al Mafraq, off the city limits of Abu Dhabi.

The new shopping center, Emirates General Market was officially inaugurated by H.E. Saeed Eisa Mohamed Al Khyeli, Director General of ZonesCorp in the presence of Eng. LuLu Hypermarket celebrates Onam and Eid Fest 2017

LuLu Hypermarket, the largest and most popular hypermarket chain in the region, celebrated the dual festivals of Onam and Eid with a commemorative campaign that included colorful competitions and vibrant cultural programs.
Onam is a mega-cultural event for people from the Indian state of Kerala, while Eid Al Adha is celebrated by Muslims throughout the world as a religious festival. The occurrence of these two celebrations together has multiplied the joy and festivities of the occasions.
Eid celebrations at LuLu Hypermarket, which started off on 29 August and the Onam festivities that began on 31 August, featured special offers on a wide variety of food items and festival-related products.
LuLu Hypermarket organized a special two-hour colorful program on 3 September to showcase the traditional elements of Onam and Eid, and to share with patrons the jovial spirit and camaraderie of the two festivals. Dancers in colorful costumes performed a range of traditional dances and musical pieces that helped highlight the dual festivals. A large crowd of visitors and shoppers gathered to witness and join in on the celebrations.
A special attraction during the campaign period was the vibrant two-day cultural program that was held on the evenings of 2 and 3 September. Traditional Eid and Onam songs and dances were the highlight of the cultural evening, with the Onam folk dance called ‘Puli Kali’ and the energetic, rhythmic renditions on drums called ‘chenda melam’, drawing the loudest cheers from audiences.
A floral-carpet competition, a traditional feature of Onam celebrations called the 'Pookalam' , was organized by LuLu Hypermarket on 3 September. During the competition, 10 pre-selected teams presented their vivid decorations made with flowers placed in imaginative designs on the floor. The winning team received KD100 worth gift vouchers, while gift vouchers of KD75 and KD50 were distributed to the second and third placed teams respectively. All participating teams were appreciated for their efforts with KD20 gift vouchers each.

LuLu expands Kuwait operations, by opening 7th Hypermarket in Al Jahra

Kuwait city: The Middle East retail major, LULU Group further consolidated its presence in Kuwait by opening their 7th Hypermarket in Al Jahra this morning. The new hypermarket was formally inaugurated by General R. Fahad Ahmed Al-Amir, Governor of Al Jahra in the presence of Yusuffali MA, Chairman of Lulu Group and other top govt officials.

Lulu opens its latest store in Saudi Arabia

Jubail: Lulu Group has opened its latest store with the opening of Lulu Express – "Fresh Market" in Galleria Mall Fanateer Dist., near Jubail city in the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia. Lulu expands in Saudi with new Mall & Hypermarket

The Middle East retail giant Lulu Group expanded further in KSA with the opening of a new shopping mall and hypermarket in Hufuf, Al Ahsa Governorate. The Lulu shopping mall and the hypermarket was officially inaugurated by His Highness Prince Badr bin Muhammed bin Abdullah bin Jalawi Al Saudi, Governor of Al Ahsa in the presence of Adil Mohammed Al Mulhim,Mayor offal Aha and several high-ranking officials from various government departments and representatives from local business communities. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed lays foundation stone of Silicon Mall at Dubai Silicon Oasis

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman, Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines & Chairman of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority DSOA, the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis DSO, the integrated free zone technology park, today unveiled the commemorative plaque and laid the foundation stone for Silicon Mall, the new 2.3 million square feet shopping mall by the LuLu Group International LuLu Group, one of the top retailers in the Middle East, at the hi-tech park. The total investment on this new project is expected to be around Dhs. 1 billion.

LuLu Hypermarket launches Food Expo 2017

LuLu Hypermarket, the largest retail chain in the region, launched its much-anticipated LuLu Food Expo 2017 with an inauguration ceremony on 22 March at its Al Rai outlet.
The 11-day festival, which is being held simultaneously at all the hypermarket’s outlets in Kuwait, was inaugurated by Indian celebrity chef and culinary consultant Hari Nayak, in the presence of top LuLu management, patrons and well-wishers.

Deloitte has announced its Annual Global Retailers Report and LuLu Group has been ranked as the top retailer in the Middle East and one among the top 50 fastest growing retailers in the world.

Lulu Group has opened its latest hypermarket in the city of Hail, in the north-western province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

LuLu Group has opened a new outlet in Qatar at Al Messila in Doha. The new hypermarket, located near Fariq bin Omran was inaugurated by the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassem bin Mohammed al-Thani. LuLu Group Launches Operations in USA

Lyndhurst, New Jersey: Lulu Group International, the Abu Dhabi headquartered retail and hospitality group further expanded their operations by inaugurating their food processing and logistics bases in USA. Y International, a wholly owned subsidiary of the group launched its operation in Lyndhurst, New Jersey this morning.

The world –class export center will purchase, process, re-label and export food, non-food, chilled and frozen products made in the U.S. In the first phase there are 75 employees which is expected to eventually grow to 200 to 250 employees within I year.

The facility was formally inaugurated jointly by Mayor Robert B. Giangeruso, Mayor Michael J. McPartland and VINAI THUMMALAPALLY, the Executive Director of SELECT USA in the presence of Yusuffali MA- Chairman & Managing Director, Saifee Rupawala, CEO, Ashraf Ali MA – Executive Director and Mohd. Althaf – Director of LULU Group. LuLu Hypermarket launches USA Festival 2016

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading hypermarket in the region, kicked off its annual USA Festival

2016 with an inaugural ceremony on 5 October at its Egaila outlet. The promotion was jointly

inaugurated by the US Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission Joey Hood and the Commercial

LuLu Hypermarket presents Thailand Fiesta 2016

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading hypermarket chain in the region, launched the Thailand Fiesta 2016 at all their outlets in Kuwait on 31 August. The eleven-day long festival, running from 31 August to 10 September, was inaugurated on 1 September at the Al-Qurain outlet by Ambassador of Thailand to Kuwait H.E. Prasas prasasvinitchai in the presence of the Hypermarket’s top management, as well as a large crowd of patrons and well-wishers.
Following the opening ceremony, the ambassador was led on a tour of the vast hypermarket, during which he got to view the various fresh and branded products from Thailand that are available during the festival.
Attractive displays of traditional monuments of Thailand, as well as other aspects of its ancient heritage, highlighting the country's diverse and colorful culture, will draw the attention of shoppers to the festival.
During the promotion period, the hypermarket is offering up a taste of Thailand that is unique and exciting. Shoppers can take advantage of a range of special offers on branded Thai food products, as well as fruits, vegetables and other delicacies specially imported from Thailand. Popular Thai food brands such as Blue Elephant, Blue Dragon, Palm Fresh and Siam Rich, as well as Simply Asia, Cocofina, Mai Siam, Amoy and Asian, are among the many brands that are on special offer during the fiesta.

LuLu Hypermarket opens its 128th outlet in Al Ain, UAE

Al Ain : LuLu Group has further expanded its presence in the eastern region of the UAE by opening its latest hypermarket in the garden city of Al Ain.

The 128th hypermarket was inaugurated by Sultan Bin Rashid Al Dhaheri, Chairman of Hili Mall, in the presence of Eng. Saeed Sultan Al Dhaheri, CEO of Hili Mall, Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajri, Col. Ali Alshamsi, and other dignitaries. Yusuff Ali M.A., Chairman & Managing Director of LuLu Group, Saifee Rupawala, CEO, Ashraf Ali M.A., Executive Director, Salim M.A., Director of LuLu Group, and other top officials were present on the occasion.

LuLu Hypermarket felicitates winners of 'Gift Voucher Delights 2016' campaign

LuLu Hypermarket, the leading hypermarket chain in the region, felicitated the winners of their ‘LuLu Gift Voucher Delights 2016’ campaign, at a prize distribution ceremony that was held at the hypermarket's Al Rai outlet on Tuesday, 19 July.
Prizes were distributed to the winners by members of LuLu’s top management in the presence of a large audience.
The ‘LuLu Gift Voucher Delights 2016’ promotion, which was held from 25 May to 6 July at all outlets of the hypermarket, provided customers with a raffle coupon for every KD5 worth of shopping. Draws to pick winners of the raffle draw were held at the Al Rai, Qurain, Salmiya and Egaila outlets of LuLu Hypermarket.
Four winners of the 'LuLu Gift Voucher Delights 2016' campaign received gift vouchers worth KD500 each, while 200 other winners received gift coupons for KD50 each.
The prize distribution ceremony at Al Rai outlet saw the top management of LuLu Hypermarket distribute a total of KD12,000 worth of gift coupons to 204 lucky winners.
On the same occasion, winners of the Ramadan Quiz competition, which was held during the Holy Month of Ramadan, were also felicitated. Top officials of LuLu Hypermarket and Madhyamam, a leading Malayalam media publication, which co-sponsored the quiz competition in association with LuLu Exchange, a premier money-remittance company in the country, distributed prizes to the quiz competition winners.
Winners of the quiz competition received valuable prizes, including three IKON 32-inch LED televisions, 60 IKON rechargeable torches and KD650 worth of gift vouchers.
