Lulu Hypermarket launches British Food Fest 2012

Back

09/05/2012

LuLu Hypermarket, the largest retailer in the region, launched its highly anticipated British Food Fest 2012, a celebration of the best of British food on Wednesday, May 9th. The week-long festival was inaugurated at 6.30pm by Paul Gaskell, chargé d’affaires British Embassy, at the hypermarket’s Al Qurain outlet, in front of a large gathering of customers, well-wishers and senior officials of the hypermarket.

A wide range of high-quality products that help bring to the fore the large variety of delectable and diverse food products from United Kingdom, are on display during the course of the festival. With fresh dairy and bakery products being brought in by air consignment, frozen goods arriving by sea and by constantly adding to the range of British grocery products on their shelves, LuLu Hypermarkets account for a large chunk of British retail exports to the region.

On display at the festival are British seasonal fruits and vegetables, ethical produce, organic produce and health foods that reflect the growing trends among consumers for environmentally and sustainably produced natural foods. Also on display are British beef, lamb and chicken products that are produced in accordance with some of the most stringent health and welfare regulations in the world. For instance, British chicken is considered to be the safest chicken meat in Europe as it has been bred to the highest standards along every stage of the food chain, right from rearing to processing and delivery.

To eat heartily, healthily and variedly, visit the British Food Festival at LuLu Hypermarket and explore the delicious and diverse range of British foods on offer. Also, as an escape from bland, mass produced food, explore the rich and varied heritage and culture of Britain, by trying out the regionally distinct food produce from Ireland, Wales and Scotland displayed at the festival.

During the week-long British Food Festival, customers can expect drastic reduction in prices on many British products. Also, during the event, the Fresh Food Department will be showcasing many regional British food specialties, giving shoppers an opportunity to taste the best of British foods in Kuwait.

With a clear focus on consolidating its retail dominance in the region, the LuLu Hypermarkets chain is planning and executing various food festivals and expanding in both existing as well as new markets around the Gulf region. The one hundredth outlet of LuLu Hypermarket was recently opened in UAE, making LuLu brand the largest operator of retail outlets in the region.
