LuLu Hypermarket is opening its UK headquarters in Birmingham, in a deal worth more than £1.1 million creating around 80 jobs. A unit at the Junction 6 industrial estate at Electric Avenue, Aston has been taken for the purpose.

LuLu’s first UK venture will see it distribute British-branded food to locations around the Middle East. A ten year lease on unit three, which extends to 21,395 sq ft, at £5.50 per sq ft will be in use.

Chris Keye, a surveyor at Birmingham based property consultants GBR Phoenix Beard, said: “Lulu Hypermarket was keen to acquire quality real estate in the UK which would facilitate their continued growth and complement their brand. The high quality and modern specification offered at Junction 6 industrial estate coupled with the excellent transport links provided an immediate solution for them.”
